Children and staff from Busy Bees Nurseries did something funny for money in March to raise money for Red Nose Day, as part of Comic Reliefs annual fundraiser.

Little ones at Busy Bees nurseries across the country enjoyed Gruffalo Fun Days, as the popular children’s character was the official partner of Comic Relief’s Early Years. Children helped to raise vital funds for Comic Relief by dressing up as their favourite Gruffalo character and making Gruffalo cakes to sell. Many nurseries created fantastic Gruffalo displays, including a ‘Deep Dark Wood’ areas, and paintings of Gruffalo characters like the Mouse, Owl, Fox and Snake. Nurseries organised lots of fun activities for the children to take part in, such as painting, storytelling and face painting.

So far, Busy Bees have raised nearly £7000 for Comic Relief, helping people all over the world who are in need of support.

The Gruffalo was also very pleased to be supporting Red Nose day, commenting “I'm very proud that I have been asked to help out with such a wonderful cause as Green Wart - sorry, I mean Red Nose - Day."
