A Child’s Learning Journey through Busy Bees Nurseries

Busy Bees believe that throughout a child’s attendance at nursery it is important to capture those memorable moments in a child’s learning and development. Busy Bees pride themselves on ensuring all parents are partners in their child’s learning journey. This is why a specially designed Baby Diary Booklet has been developed, allowing children’s carers to capture and record those special moments. The booklet includes sections to allow parents to share information from the home, ensuring the child’s key person is up to date with any changes in the baby’s routine, interests and needs. Children of all ages receive their very own individual Learning Journal to record their own evidence of learning and development. This may include photographs, art work, and written observations by the staff. A DVD- R disc is included in each Learning Journal, enabling your child to record work they have completed on a computer, and well as allowing staff to download photographs and voice recordings of the child learning through play in the nursery. Within the Learning Journal parents are encouraged to help create the content with information from home, for example, if your child has been on a trip at the weekend your child’s key person will want to include elements of the trip in their planning of an activity. With these two distinctive resources parents will always have that unique moment captured as a treasured keepsake of your child’s time at a Busy Bees nursery. Busy Bees will continue to support your child onto starting school Children respond to changes in different ways and maintaining coherence and continuity will enhance their confidence in their new setting. The Seamless Transition booklet, completed by the key person, will ensure your child’s new setting has all the information about their unique likes/dislikes, interests and development, so that they will continue to develop and learn effectively.
When your child is ready to start school Busy Bees nurseries will use a Seamless Transitions booklet as we recognise that starting school is a period of time that is filled with a range of emotions for both children and parents.
