A Great Year of Fundraising!
Busy Bees have had a great year of fundraising activities and are delighted to have raised over £50,000 for our chosen charities throughout 2011.
Each of our nurseries regions held exciting fundraising events throughout the year for their chosen charities, which were; The Forces Children’s Trust, The Children’s Hospice, The Rainbow Trust, Help for Heroes, Save the Children and Winston’s Wish.
Busy Bees Nurseries put on fantastic events to raise money, involving parents, children and families from the local community. Many nurseries held Summer Fun Days, including Busy Bees in Woking, who offered guests a delicious BBQ as well as entertainment as a brave member of staff volunteered to be pelted with wet sponges! Other nurseries held bake sales, including Busy Bees in Southport, who held an Apple Pie Bake Off before selling the delicious creations to raise money for The Forces Children’s Trust.
Other memorable events include Bristol Emerson’s Green’s Barn Dance, where children had fun line dancing to a live band dressed up as cow boys and girls, Chippenham’s Beach Party, which gave guests the chance to cool off in the Summer sun by making their very own ice-cream in the nursery’s ice-cream factory, and York’s Rainbow Week, when children were excited to receive a visit from the famous Zippy, Bungle and George!
Balloon releases across Nurseries in the South East and London area took place earlier in the year to raise money for Winston’s Wish, with children from Welwyn Garden City nursery wearing something beginning with ‘W’ in honour of the charities name.
Fundraising is still ongoing, with Christmas Fairs being held in Busy Bees nurseries across the UK. Busy Bees in Beverley raised over £250 for the Rainbow Trust when Santa came to visit, arriving in style by helicopter!
Busy Bees would like to say a special thank you to all the families who have helped us to raise such a fantastic amount for our chosen charities.
