Award Nominations for Welwyn Garden City Nursery

The nursery reached the finals for ‘Pre-School of the Year Award’ from childcare experts, Nursery World, following glowing parent testimonials, praising the nursery for making their child “feel like an individual who’s thoughts and interests are important and of equal value of each child who attends” and “satisfy(ing) my child’s hunger to learn about the world around him.” A parent from the nursery said “I would thoroughly recommend Busy Bees to any parent out there who is looking for a setting where their child will develop and feel like home from home.”

The nursery is also waiting to here the results after becoming a finalist for ‘Green Award’ from Nursery Management Today Magazine. The nursery was nominated for the award for their commitment to caring for the planet, winning the ‘Greenzone Best Recycling Initiative Award’ last year. The nursery provides eco-friendly, biodegradable nappies for babies and toddlers, as well as organic milk to the nursery children.

The nursery also recycles their waste products, including plastic, cardboard, paper, and metal, and the children learn to recycle but using one of the many recycling waste bins around the nursery. The children are also encouraged to grow their own fruit and vegetables, using the nursery garden to plant seeds and nurture their crops, using water butts to water them with rainwater.

Nursery Manager, Lisa Stevens, said: “We can all do our bit to help the environment, and this is part of our contribution. As a nursery, we feel that we should promote a greener environment to our children so future generations can carry it forward.”

We are delighted with our nominations and look forward to hearing the results from Nursery Management Today in November.”
