Brand new breast feeding facility at Busy Bees
In unison with Coventry Partnership Working with Children and Young People, Busy Bees at Walsgrave Hospital are delighted to announce that they have been awarded funding from Coventry Partnership for health improvement for the community.
Busy Bees have used the funding to promote breast feeding in the nursery and to the local community. The nursery has developed a private breast feeding area in nursery, and welcomes groups to meet at nursery using this brand new facility.
Busy Bees aims to provide breast feeding awareness to new mums and encourage parents to feel comfortable breast feeding in nursery as well as offering support and advice.
Nursery Manager, Shelley McCubbin said: "I expressed an interest in wanting to become more involved in supporting the community so I applied for the grant and chose to use it to promote breast feeding due to limited facilities within the hospital and local area.
I liaised with the local breastfeeding support group who welcomed the opportunity to support us with this initiative, by holding their meetings in our brand new designated breast feeding area in nursery.
We are able to provide advice and support literature to our existing parents and to new parents in the local community."
