Buttercups Walk to the Train Station!
Last week some of the children from Buttercups had a walk to Formby Train Station to see if they could see any passing trains!
Before they went on their walk they talked about the wet weather & what they thought they should wear for their walk - this helps the children achieve learning in Knowledge & Understanding of the World.
On their walk they talked about crossing the roads safely, holding hands with their teachers & explained about being careful not to slip over on the wet pavements- this helps children learn how to keep themselves safe.
The children loved waving at the trains passing by! On the way back they looked out for familiar things they may see around Formby - the post box, the bus stop & the local chip shop! This helps children develop a sense of community & helps them become familiar about their surroundings.
The children got lots of fresh air & thoroughly enjoyed their experience!
