Chefs Receive Early Years Nutrition Certificate
Councillor Rod Campbell, Vice Chairman of Burntwood Town Council, made a special visit to Busy Bees nursery in St Matthews, along with Karen Chesters from the City and Guilds, to present nine Busy Bees nursery Chefs with certificates following their achievement in passing the Busy Bees Early Years Nutritional course.
The Early Years Nutritional course was launched by Busy Bees last year following reports which highlighted the need for clearer nutritional guidance for childcare providers. The six-month course is exclusively developed by the Busy Bees Training team and accredited by City and Guilds and focuses on nutritional requirements for children aged up to five years, with strong links to children’s health and wellbeing. The course addresses areas such as ‘Food and Nutrition,’ ’Nutrition for the Under 5’s,’ ‘Menu Planning’, ‘Health and Wellbeing,’ and ‘Promoting Healthy Eating’.
Busy Bees is committed to delivering quality, balanced meals and snacks to all the children attending our nurseries and Busy Bees Chefs will be continuing to achieve the Busy Bees Early Years Nutrition accreditation, with nine Chefs recently completing the course and another 11 due to complete the course in November.
