Child Safety Week Success at Salford

The events began on Tuesday 16th June 2009 when PC Tony Beckett and PCSO Adam Warburton visited the nursery in the police car which the children were allowed to sound the siren on and also they got to try on lots of the different pieces of the police uniform!

On Wednesday 17th June PCSO Andrea came into the nursery and spoke to the children about stranger danger.  The children were seated together in the central area and Andrea showed a PowerPoint presentation to them.  Andrea discussed different scenarios with the children and gave them lots of lovely pictures to colour in!!

The Fire Brigade came in to see the children on Friday 19th June and arrived in the fire engine which the children were allowed to sit in and sound the siren on and they also got to splash the hose around too!!

Each of the 8 children’s rooms were given a specific topic to create a display for including fire safety, water safety, electrical safety, stranger danger and why we telephone 999.

The Salford Advertiser covered the event and we appeared in the newspaper on 9th July.

We coincided a sponsored beep beep afternoon and sang songs all about traffic and road safety.
