Today we received some special Halloween visitors. A lady called Helen dressed as a 'good witch' came with her creepy crawlie animals!
 

Helen even had a special magic wand with her, which the children were encouraged to use to help conjure up the next creature. Before the creature was revealed, the children were also encouraged to guess what it could be from their description.

The children were brave about handling the animals and fascinated by their appearance. They were very excited to see a big hairy spider close up and to touch a giant snail and watch a millipede. They also managed to stroke a rat (named Matilda!) and feel a corn snake (named Marmalade!). They also watched to see how the corn snake slithered along the floor and tasted the air with his tongue.  

The children also enjoyed mimicking the creature's movements and noises.
