The nursery was then graded on this project and we were awarded a Gold award.

The children are now at an age where they want to do things independently, so with the help of the parents and various fun filled activities we have carried out, our children can learn to carry on being independent and knowing they are doing so in the correct way.

Throughout this project we carried out various fun activities including making our own cow to show the children where milk comes from. It was great watching the children’s reaction to this activity and listening to the children trying to explain to their parents what they had been up to.

Another great activity was a practical tooth brush session. The children learnt why we need to brush our teeth and we all had a go at doing so. Following on from this activity we had a speaker in to talk about our teeth, good and bad foods and at the end of the talk they all had their own tooth brush and tooth paste; and then set a dentist role play area.

We had great parent involvement with supporting the children in the importance of brushing our teeth.
