This month, Children from Busy Bees Nursery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham presented Help for Heroes with a cheque for over £10,000, following a fun-filled week of fundraising activities.

Heroes were celebrated at Busy Bees Nurseries across Southern England and the West Midlands during June, as fun activities were held for children and parents to raise vital funds for the charity, Help for Heroes.

Each of the nurseries held a special ‘Heroes Open Week,’ which included various hero-themed activities, including special visits from firemen, nurses, policemen and other community heroes. ‘Family Fun Days’ were held for children, parents, and the local community and included a one minute silence in remembrance of all the brave soldiers who have served for their country.

Children presented the cheque to Dawn-Marie Turner from Help for Heroes. Dawn visited the nursery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital to meet some of the children and Nursery Managers who helped to raise money for the charity. Lance Corporal Swan and Private Doyle from the Mercian Regiment also attended on the day to personally thank Busy Bees on behalf of British servicemen and women.

Busy Bees would like to take this opportunity to thank the Busy Bees parents, children and local communities, who helped us to raise such a fantastic amount. The money will help fund the rejuvenation of our wounded servicemen and women.
