It's all Imagination Stations go
Over the next few months we launching an exciting new initiative for our toddlers called 'Our Imagination Station'.
The initiative follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), using the popular method of role-play to develop children’s imagination and communication skills. Role-play is thought to not only encourage creativity, but also enhance a child’s individuality.
Nursery Staff have been provided with specially developed activity cards, which are designed to encourage the children to build relationships with their peers and develop skills such as communication, problem solving, creativity and movement.
The programme has been developed by Busy Bees following research that suggests cultivating a child’s imagination will have a direct effect on the adult they will become. By using role-play themes based on a child’s individual interests, Busy Bees hope to further develop their imagination and creativity.
Childcare and Curriculum Manager, Lisa Snell, said: “Play is a natural activity for children, as they are born with an instinct to play and communicate. ‘Our Imagination Station’ will enhance this development and provide a wealth of learning experiences for the children”.
