The Pre-school children have enjoyed doing lots of science activities and experimenting with different malleable materials.

The activities included:

Growing cress - The children participated in planting cress seeds into pots and discussed about watering them regularly and keeping them in sunlight in order for them to grow.

Falling Orange - A talk was given to the children about gravity and then they were able to see for themselves by taking part in an activity. The children were asked to hold the cup with one hand and pull the card away to see the orange drop into the cup. The children enjoyed talking about opposites such as heavy and light.

Jumping Pepper - The children rubbed a piece of material over a plastic tub filled with pepper and watched it jump up and down with static electricity.

Hanging Crystals - This activity consisted of the children helping teaspoon some bicarbonate of soda into warm water which then over time will crystallise onto the wool and hang over the plate.

The children have also enjoyed playing with gloop and snow.
