The NMT Awards are the industries most prestigious awards ceremony and we are delighted to announce that Busy Bees have been successful with five out of six entries to reach the finals. Lifetime Achievement Award Our Managing Director, Lynn Woodward and Operations Director, Margaret Randles, were entered for the Lifetime Achievement Award for their contribution to the Childcare Industry over the last 25 years. 25 years ago, Busy Bees was founded by three families, Lynn and John Woodward, Marg and Pete Randles and Dave and Sally Thackeray, as they couldn’t find the standard of care they demanded for their own children. Since then, Busy Bees have grown significantly and now offer quality childcare at 130 nurseries throughout the UK and each nursery still has the same ethos, standards and passion for quality childcare as ‘The Rocklands’ did 25 years ago. Nursery Design Award Three Busy Bees nurseries were entered for the Nursery Design Award and we are delighted that two of the three nurseries; Busy Bees at Colton Mill and Busy Bees at St Matthews, Burntwood, have been short listed as finalists. Nursery Cook / Chef Award Our Nursery Cook, Kiran Rajalingham at TLC Nursery in Hillingdon has reached the finals for the Nursery Cook Award. Kiran will have to cook a well-balanced and nutritious two course meal in 1 hour and 15 minutes from the nursery menu from within the last three months. Judging will take place in October and each of the above finalists will face a panel of judges. The lucky winners will be announced at the Nursery Awards 2008 Gala Night at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel in November 2008. The Gala Night will be hosted by Blue Peter presenter, Konnie Huq. Congratulations to our 5 finalists and we wish all them all lots of luck. All winners will be announced at the end of November 2008.
