National Story Telling Week 31/1 to 4/2
Busy Bees children are Bookworms for National Storytelling Week
From the 29th January till the 5th February, children and staff celebrated National Storytelling Week.
National Storytelling Week is an event held by the Society for Storytelling, which promotes the benefits reading has on society, and aims to encourage people of all ages to pick up a book and start reading. By taking part in National Storytelling week, Busy Bees nursery encouraged families to read at home, as well as at nursery to develop children’s creativity, imagination and communication skills.
Throughout the week, children at the nursery have been making their own books, reading to each other and enjoying having important visitors from the community to read stories.
Senior Nursery Manager, Julie Boulton said; “Reading is a great way for children to improve their speech and grammar, and storytelling really helps to stimulate their imagination and creative development.
