Nurseries get 'Busy' helping Save a Life

Busy Bees have teamed up with The National Blood Service (NBS) this year to promote the importance of donating lifesaving blood.
Busy Bees have launched a year long ‘Save a Life’ campaign to help raise awareness amongst parents, families, friends and the local community by encouraging them to take up the challenge and become blood donors.
The campaign was launched on Thursday 4th March with a blood donor session at Busy Bees Nursery and Head Office in Burntwood, Staffordshire. The Stoke City Football Club mascot and a representative from the club attended the launch having given their full backing to the campaign, along with baby charity BLISS, who attended the launch.
Marg Randles, Operations Director at Busy Bees said: “We are very excited to be launching ‘Save a Life’ campaign in our 129 nurseries across the UK. We hope to encourage staff, parents, friends, families and local communities to give blood at one of the many Busy Bees blood donor sessions that will be taking place around the country.
Our aim is to get 1,200 people to give blood, which could potentially save or improve 3,600 lives. I’m pleased to say that the launch has kicked our campaign off to a great start, with 24 Head Office and nursery staff donating blood on the day.”
Andrew Calvert, Senior Donor Relations Manager for NBS said: “It’s great to be able to link up with such a high profile organisation as Busy Bees. We hope to get parents, family and friends to join the thousands of blood donors who give regularly to help save lives.”
