BUSY BEES AT OLDBROOK CELEBRATE ‘OUTSTANDING’ OFSTED RESULT

Busy Bees Day Nursery in Oldbrook, Milton Keynes is celebrating after receiving a glowing report following its latest Ofsted inspection.

The nursery received a rare ‘Outstanding’ in all areas throughout the nursery, including leadership and management, safeguarding, effectiveness of early years provision, quality of the provision in the Early Years Foundation Stage, resources, equality and diversity, partnerships with parents, and care. Less than 10% of early year’s settings in the UK hold this result.

Ofsted praised the nursery and noted that ’children are making excellent progress in their learning and development due to the extremely committed staff who successfully implement the Early Years Foundation Stage.’ Special mention was given to the nursery’s ‘emphasis on inclusive practice to meet children’s needs’ and the inspector commented that they ‘work extremely closely with parents.’ The nursery’s ‘wonderful and rich range of resources to support and develop understanding of different cultures and beliefs’ was also singled out for praise.

Ofsted was impressed with attention to children’s welfare, stating that ‘the safeguarding of children’s welfare is very effective because all staff completely understand the procedures to follow should they have any concerns.’ Ofsted also gave credit for the nursery’s thorough recruitment procedures and the extensive induction procedures.

Children’s wellbeing and development was commended, as the report noted that ‘all children make excellent progress because their key worker ensures they receive a highly personalized learning experience’.

The nursery environment was complimented as being ‘visually very stimulating and overall extremely well resourced’.

In summing up the report said ‘all children are flourishing and thriving in this warm, welcoming and vibrant setting.’
