Octobers successfull fun and games
Pink Week
The children - especially the girls loved the opportunity to dress up and wear pink for a whole week, every day children from 1 to 4 years - made homemade cakes, biscuits and sweets. We then sold these to our parents and visitors, every day we sold out which was fantastic. By the end of the week we had raised £88.44 for cancer research.
Halloween Week
Well what a huge success this event has been, every day we had cats, bats, witches, wizards, devils trailing through our doors at 8.00 am onwards. Even staff joined with the dressing up, Sarah came a Cruella De Ville and Jordan was one of the Ghost Busters (how her back pack fitted through the doorway into babies is still a mystery....)
The children - sculptured there own pumpkins for the rooms, planted pumpkin seeds to hopefully grow our own and found a fantastic recipe for a pumpkin cake using the pumpkin flesh. The smell while that was cooking was amazing - all the parents commented on this upon arriving to collect their children on Monday afternoon.
Diwali
The festival of lights was enjoyed on Wednesday 26th October.
A huge thank you to the parents who supported this at Busy Bees. Staff and children dressed up, we made our own diwa's with the children and sent home lovely hand made diwali cards to our parents. Later in the afternoon, the childen had a lucky opportunity to see some fireworks set off nearby, as they provided a show while we were still using the garden.
Overall a lovely busy month enjoyed by the children and staff at Meridian.
We can't wait to start November now!
