TLC Nursery at Nottingham City Hospital has become the fifth nursery in the Busy Bees Group to receive an ‘Outstanding’ inspection from Ofsted.

An ‘Outstanding’ result is the highest grade awarded by Ofsted and is given to exemplary nurseries who provide exceptional care and provision to children and parents. The grade is given to relatively few nurseries nationwide, as the criteria needed to meet this level is high.

Other nurseries in The Busy Bees Group to achieve outstanding results are; Leapfrog in Chatham, Kent, Busy Bees at Mardley Hill, Welwyn, Leapfrog at Broome, Swindon, and Busy Bees at Welwyn Garden City. The group has also achieved ‘Outstanding’ areas for nursery education at Leapfrog in Aston, Birmingham, and Busy Bees in Evesham, and further ‘Outstanding’ areas for care at TLC at Essex University. Overall, the Busy Bees Group have received 78 areas of ‘Outstanding’ judgments since September 2008.

Some of the comments from Ofsted include;
“The partnership with parents and the other provisions the children attend is a key strength and contributes significantly to ensuring that the individual needs of all the children are very well met.” (Busy Bees at Welwyn Garden City)

“Children are inquisitive and substantially benefit from staff who successfully create warm and trusting relationships taking very good account of children’s feelings and needs.” (TLC at Nottingham City Hospital)

“Staff care for all children exceptionally well and place a very strong emphasis on their safety and welfare.” (Leapfrog at Swindon Broome)

“Children make outstanding progress, given their age, ability and starting points.” (Busy Bees at Welwyn Garden City)

“All fruit and vegetables provided for the children’s meals and snacks are organically produced. Children also have opportunities to plant, grow, harvest and eat fruit and vegetables of their own.” (Busy Bees at Mardley Hill)

“Excellent staff awareness and exemplary security measures ensure that the children are able to safely and freely explore their environment and make choices.” (Busy Bees at Mardley Hill)

“The consistency with which children’s behaviour is managed by staff is very good. Consequently, children are learning how to have awareness of the feelings of other, what is right and wrong and why it is necessary to have behavioural boundaries.” (Leapfrog at Swindon Broome)

“Children benefit because the staff are skilled and very knowledgeable about the Early Years Foundation Stage. As a result, each child receives individual planning and targets enabling them to make very significant progress in their learning and development and to work towards reaching their full potential.” (TLC at Nottingham City Hospital)

Operations Director, Marg Randles, said: “Busy Bees Nurseries deliver quality childcare by making every child’s interests, safety and happiness central to everything we do. We ensure that all of our staff teams provide the best care and education through development and training, offering support for gaining higher-level qualifications.

All of the staff at our nurseries work exceptionally hard to implement the new EYFS framework, and our staff teams also recognise that the children’s health and safety is of the greatest importance. We value the partnership we have with parents, and would like to thank each one of them for their continued support.  We will continue in our commitment to provide quality childcare, learning and fun in a clean and safe environment.”
