The children celebrated ‘Pancake Day’ by taking part in a pancake race, which they really enjoyed. “Ready, steady, go” the children shouted as they watched their friends have their turn, watching as they balanced the pancake in their pan.
They then practised flipping the pancakes, “Oh no, it’s too windy” one child said as their pancake blew away. The children played pass the pancake and when the music stopped they had to think of a topping they would like.
Maria the chef spent the afternoon with the children making banana pancakes, mixing the ingredients together and being able to watch Maria cook them. “If the pancake falls on the floor we won't be able to eat it, because it will be full of germs” one of the children told their friend.
The children finished the afternoon off by enjoying the pancakes they had helped to make.
