Peppa Pig comes to Busy Bees
This summer, baby charity, Tommy’s, and Busy Bees worked together to bring Peppa Pig Triathlons to Busy Bees nurseries around the country, raising over £16,000 for Tommy’s and helping to save babies’ lives.
Children at Busy Bees Nurseries took part in the Peppa Pig Triathlon – a unique take on the traditional triathlon, involving the much-loved cartoon character. As part of the event, little ones splashed through muddy puddles, ran, crawled, and raced trikes to raise money for Tommy’s.
As part of Busy Bees’ ‘Change4life’ activity, little triathletes, all aged under 5, not only had fun getting active with this exciting and rewarding challenge, but also helped Tommy’s save tiny lives. Each participant was sponsored by friends and family to complete the triathlon – even non-walkers got involved by doing a sponsored crawl!
All money raised went to Tommy’s, which funds research into pregnancy complications and runs an information service for parents-to-be. £10,000 of the money raised by Busy Bees will be enough to pay for a research assistant or a midwife for the information line.
Jane Brewin, Chief Executive of Tommy’s, is delighted with the amount raised, “We are thrilled to be involved with the Peppa Pig Triathlon, which ultimately will help fund research so that more mums can enjoy a healthy pregnancy.”
