Quality Counts at Busy Bees

Busy Bees Nursery at St David’s Park in Ewloe is celebrating this month, after they were awarded the National Day Nurseries Association’s (NDNA) ‘Quality Counts’ quality assurance scheme.
The recognised kite-mark is endorsed by Investors in Children, and is the leading quality assurance scheme specifically designed for day nurseries. The scheme is designed to develop, encourage and maintain high standards in early education and care, and to provide parents with reassurance and confidence in the quality of the setting.
Busy Bees Nursery completed fifteen modules, including Care and Education, Child Protection, Partnerships with Parents, and Nutrition, all of which were passed through an independent panel in order to receive the kite-mark.
The day nursery gained top marks for it’s partnership with parents, receiving praise for holding parent evenings, displaying members of the parent committee in reception and sending out regular newsletters. NDNA commented that “Staff are welcoming and positive with parents asking how children have been and telling parents what children have done whilst at nursery.”
The nursery was praised for its “warm and friendly atmosphere” and NDNA commented that the “children were happy throughout the day” and were “looked after by caring and considerate staff in a very happy and friendly environment.” NDNA also pointed out that “The majority of the staff are qualified to level 3 or above evidenced by the care and education the children receive.”
Commenting on nutrition within the nursery, Nursery Manager, Vicky Peers, said "Teaching children to eat healthily is not just a part time activity, it is a long term goal that if done correctly will stay with them for their entire lives. As a result, it is vitally important that children are taught the ' healthy eating message' from an early age."
Vicky went on to say "We are delighted to have achieved Quality Counts, and hope it signifies our commitment to providing quality childcare."
