Busy Bees Nursery in St Matthews held a fantastic Teddy Bear Extravaganza for children and their families, as they were invited to bring their favourite teddies along to enjoy a day at the teddy fair.

On arrival, all teddies received a passport before undergoing a security check through the special teddy x-ray machine. Teddies were then ready for a day of adrenaline-fuelled fun, as they took turns on the ‘Teddy High Wire’ and ‘Boat a Bear’ ride, competing against other bears as they sailed down water slides. Children were able to get involved in all the fun as they operated the rides. Any children who forgot their teddies needn’t worry, as plenty of bears were waiting to be treated to a day at the fair at the ‘Adopt a Bear’ tent.

Teddy Medics were on hand throughout the day to take good care of the participating teddies, and to assist any teddies that fell off or injured themselves on the rides.

Once the brave teddies completed the rides, they were awarded a certificate for their courage.

There were lots of other fun activities on the day, including a donkey ride, a Teddy Bears Picnic, a raffle, delicious food stalls, and a visit from a very special bear, Bewster!

All proceeds from the day went to the Rainbow Trust, and the nursery was able to donate over £240 to help provide emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.
