Southport Nursery Receives 5 Stars From Environmental Health
Busy Bees Day Nursery at Southport has earned the credited “Appetite for Life” Award from Sefton’s Environmental Health Office.
The nursery demonstrated that they actively promote healthy choices in food by means of regular activities like Fish Fortnight, and incorporate fresh produce, quality meat and fish and a balanced diet in their menus. The nursery also established that they cater for a variety of dietary needs and that they promote good oral health in the children with activities and the promotion of sugar-free medication. The kitchen where all nursery meals and snacks are prepared was also shown to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, tidiness and safety.
The certificate will be presented to the Nursery Manager and Nursery Chef on the 29th January by the Mayor of Southport. The nursery will also receive some new chefs whites displaying their 5 star award and badges will be given to all the nursery children and staff.
Nursery Manager, Sharon Mackenzie, said “We are very proud to receive this award, and it’s great that the Nursery and our Chef have been recognised for all our hard work.”
Sharon went on to say, “The nursery has always elevated the importance of the food service we provide to the children and we will continue in our commitment to providing quality food in a clean and safe environment.”
