Special visitors to launch Jubilee Celebrations

Special visitors to launch Jubilee Celebrations

The Busy Bees Nurseries based in Manchester were treated to a visit from the Grenadier Guards who came all the way from Aldershot in good old military fashion and attire!

Children from Busy Bees Fallowfield, Altrincham, Cheadle and Sale were mesmerised as Sgt Nicholson and Guardsman Smith marched in to their nurseries for a little bit of child-friendly drill practice.

After learning to 'keep step' to music, the children had fun dressing up in replica costumes and trying on the actual bearskins of the Grenadier Guards, before Sgt Nicholson gave an engaging account of the duties of a Grenadier Guard and interesting facts about the Queen and Buckingham Palace.

All of the children and staff really enjoyed the visit, Mike Richards, Nursery Manager at Busy Bees Manchester Fallowfield said: "We wanted to make our Diamond Jubilee Celebrations really special for the children - how often do our children in Manchester get to see the sites of London on their home ground!  The children, staff and parents were all so excited - we now have lots of budding recruits marching around the nursery.

We would like to say a big thank you to Sgt Nicholson and Guardsman Smith for taking the time out of the busy schedules to come and see us!"
