We are really green!
The children have been transferring the cards from a collection box in the nursery reception into bags ready to be transported to the local Tesco Store in Bradley Stoke.
Pre-school group have even tried to make their own recycled paper using the cards. The 3-5’s group had great fun tearing up and then mashing the cards with their toes and then pressing the pulp into containers to set!
The Woodlands trust Scheme is run in partnership with Recycle Now, WHSmith, Tesco, TK Maxx and Marks & Spencer and last year collected 73.6million cards which enabled the charity to plant 17,000 new trees.
With support from the Woodland Trust the children at Leapfrog have received 10 new trees to plant in their nursery garden and will be continuing to collect cards until the end of January.
