World Book Day
The author of Monty's Big Surprise, Gayle Clarke was invited to Busy Bees on Tuesday 21st February to read her latest creation which was launched in January this year. As World Book Day is fast approaching we wanted to get our Children feeling excited about books! Gayle read the story with great enthusiasm which quickly shared with the group of pre-school children. Monty's Big Surprise is about a Dalmatian who learns the names of all the farm animals on his farm. The book was funny and all of the children joined in by shouting the real names of the animals.
The children were given finger puppets so that they could act out the story and get involved as much as possible. Children at Busy Bees enjoyed every second of Monty's Big Surprise and have been talking about it ever since.
World Book day is a very special day of the year for nurseries and schools as it gives us the opportunity to encourage children to be excited about books. To further our celebrations for World Book day we will be holding a Character Fancy Dress competition and we will be making a display on our favourite books for our local Library.
