ABC Learning Centres is the largest publicly listed childcare operator in the world, with childcare centres in Australia, New Zealand, America and the UK.
Founded in 1988 by Eddie Groves, the company is listed on the ASX and reported a net profit of A$143.1 million (after tax) in 2007.
ABC operates 2,238 childcare centres across the world. Its focus centres on delivering a high quality of care for children aged between six weeks and five years.
In December 2006, ABC acquired Busy Bees Group to gain a foothold in the UK market. The £70m deal will allow ABC to grow its nursery presence within Europe and tap into the ever-growing Childcare Voucher sector.
