About our Nursery

Busy Bees at Farringtons is situated within the grounds of Farringtons School and has been open since September 2005. The building is a purpose-designed nursery with light, spacious rooms. The ground floor caters for children aged 3 months to 2 years. The two baby rooms, ‘Snowdrops’ and ‘Bluebells’, are cosy and well equipped for the babies’ daily routines. The largest ground floor rooms are for the adventurous toddler groups, ‘Buttercups’ and ‘Sunflowers’. These rooms are bright, well ventilated and have direct access to the nursery garden. 

The first floor of the nursery caters for children aged 2 to 5 years. This includes our three nursery classrooms, all with ensuite toilet and changing facilities, and a large, sunny pre-school room, ‘Oaktrees’, which is set up for the 3 to 5 year olds, following the foundation stage curriculum.

All rooms are well equipped, with a large selection of toys, educational resources and sensory activities. Within each age group, the children are allowed to experience a range of free play and planned activities, encouraged by our staff team who support their learning and individual needs.

Busy Bees at Farringtons has a spacious, secure outdoor play area with soft surfaces, making it suitable for all age groups. We are also fortunate to have access to the beautiful grounds of Farringtons School, which we use for daily walks around the grounds and woodlands with the children.

Our aim is to provide a relaxed, friendly atmosphere in which the children are able to form relationships, and offer a variety of experiences that will contribute to their overall development, and individual inquisitiveness for learning.

 

Opening Times

Monday – Friday 7:30am to 6:30pm
Morning Session 8:15am to 1:15pm
Afternoon Session 1:30pm to 6:00pm

 

Annual Holidays

The nursery will be closed all bank holidays and over Christmas,
please confirm exact dates with the nursery manager.

OFSTED

Our Day nursery facilities are registered with the Department of Education and Employment DfES) to accept grants for Early Years education for children aged three and four and activities are geared to meet the requirements of Ofsted incorporating the Early Learning Goals.

Activities also take into consideration all aspects of the National Curriculum Key Stage One.

Children are given every opportunity to make their own choices with encouragement and help from staff and parents.
