About our Nursery

Busy Bees at Formby is situated in a converted Victorian house and is divided into 5 group rooms where we offer a balance of care and education for children 3 months to 5 years.

Our Daisies room, for 3 months to 18 months has a welcoming environment, with age appropriate, stimulating activities for babies.

In the Rosebuds room, children from 1-2 years, we create new and stimulating activities to help develop their independence and free choice. We introduce short periods of circle time to encourage communication and language skills.

Our 2-3 year olds in Buttercups are introduced to colours and shapes in the daily routine. They are encouraged to engage in group activities as well as structured activities.

The Snowdrops group, ages 3 - 3 1/2 years, are offered a wide variety of structured activities including creative play, picture games, computer time and role play. We have discussions to extend children’s independence and confidence.

In Sunflowers, ages 3 1/2 – 5 years, we aim to make learning as fun as possible. We have regular discussions encouraging confidence further and preparing the children for school. Our room is divided into specific areas, for example, maths, creative activities, computer area, story and writing area and a separate role play room.  

There are two garden areas set at the back of the nursery. One large garden complete with climbing equipment, slides and bikes, and a secret Wendy house to play in. The second garden area is for our baby and toddler groups, and is well equipped with outdoor toys.  
 
There is a security system in place for anybody entering the nursery, and also off road parking facilities at the front of the building.

Opening Times

Monday - Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm
Morning Session 8:00am to 1:00pm
Afternoon Session 1:00pm to 6:00pm

The nursery may be able to be flexible to meet parents' needs within the opening hours, by prior arrangement.

OFSTED

Our Day nursery facilities are registered with the Department of Education and Employment DfES) to accept grants for Early Years education for children aged three and four and activities are geared to meet the requirements of Ofsted incorporating the Early Learning Goals.

Activities also take into consideration all aspects of the National Curriculum Key Stage One.

Children are given every opportunity to make their own choices with encouragement and help from staff and parents.
