About our Nursery

Busy Bees at Glenalmond is a 116 place nursery situated within a large converted Edwardian manor house and set in beautiful grounds close to the local rail network and the Historic Verulanium park. It has been designed to create a loving and caring environment within stimulating surroundings and health and safety is given the highest priority.

We believe that every child deserves the best start in life and at Busy Bees Glenalmond we are committed to meeting the needs of the children and their families. Our creative programs of activities provided by our highly qualified and experienced staff team are designed to enable each child to reach his or her full potential. A structured approach to learning and play in a protected and happy environment ensures that our children flourish. We offer the widest range of toys, materials and equipment, which are suited to every age and stage of development.

Children at The Heart of The Nursery

There are 9 different rooms, each dedicated to a specific age group, ensuring that children are able to mix happily with their peers. Every child is allocated their own key worker, who spends time getting to know them personally.

We maintain individual development records called ‘trackers’ for each child which detail exactly how each child has progressed in a wide variety of skills. We take care to regularly discuss these with parents, as we believe a strong relationship should be developed with our families. We also schedule parents’ evenings and other special events that involve the whole family. It’s important that parents feel the facility and staff are accessible and approachable.”

So Much To Do

Children benefit from a wide range of imaginative & stimulating activities including group and individual play. We also offer Tiny Mites music classes, Bee Active football and multi skills sessions, Zoo Lab and a Nursery Teacher. Children also have the opportunity to learn a second language with the French Teacher. All extra-curricular activities are included in the childcare costs.

Our curriculum is broad, balanced and relevant to all children. It is appropriate to their social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual development and incorporates all government guidelines.

As a team, we regularly monitor, review and evaluate our work in order to maintain and achieve high standards, by continually observing children; we are able to base our plans around their individual needs.

Despite this full day, the children also have ample opportunity to rest, enjoy nutritious meals and develop into the confident young children you hope they will be.
