About our Nursery
Busy Bees at North Birmingham College is a large, purpose designed nursery, opened in 1993. Located on the Great Barr campus of Sutton Coldfield college, there are places available to both students and the general public. We are closely situated to the M5 and M6 motorways, enabling easy access to major towns and cities within the area, including Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield. The nursery is also conveniently located on several major bus routes.
Busy Bees at North Birmingham College caters for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The children are based in seven bright and spacious group rooms, which are all well equipped with age appropriate toys and activities, where the staff can provide a balance of care and education. The well trained staff implement the Birth to Three Matters and the Early Learning Goals curriculums. Both the manager and the deputy manager have over 23 years of Busy Bees experience, progressing through the nursery.
The nursery is set on one level, with easy access for both pushchairs and wheelchairs. There is a large, secure outdoor play area, half of which is grassed, and half is hard floor surface, which the children use daily. This area is great for children to play on the bikes, cars, scooters and other outdoor equipment. Babies can also spend time enjoying the fresh air in our double pushchairs.
‘Keith the Music Man’ visits the pre-school children every other week, where the children can participate in musical activities, and sing with Keith whilst he plays the guitar.
We have a large friendly staff team, many have worked with us for a number of years, and we are dedicated to providing regular training and support. The catering team provides nutritious meals and snacks to the children throughout the day. We are committed to providing a well balanced diet, and cater for all special dietary requirements.
Parents are invited to attend parent’s evenings, twice a year. This provides a great opportunity to meet other parents, talk to the staff, look at your child’s work and Busy Bees tracker, used to monitor your their individual development. An annual Christmas Saturday performance is held, where all parents and grandparents are invited to the nursery to watch the performance, meet Father Christmas and enjoy a mince pie.
Morning Session: 8am-1pm
Afternoon Session: 1pm-6pm
Annual Holidays
The nursery will be closed on all bank holidays, and over Christmas; please contact the nursery to find out exact dates.
