About our Nursery

Busy Bees at Lancaster is a purpose built nursery, ideally situated between the Asda supermarket and the Salt Ayre Leisure Centre, offering much needed quality childcare in the Lancaster area. Our newly re-furbished building is designed especially for children, featuring a separate baby unit, toddler groups and pre-school areas, including a dining room, soft play room and library.

Our secure outdoor play area features all weather areas and a great selection of equipment. Our dedicated and well-trained staff nurture and care for children of all age groups, providing a wide range of imaginative and stimulating activities following the ‘Birth to Three Matters’ framework, and ‘Stepping Stones’ foundation stage curriculum. Our extra curricular activities include baby massage, French and Spanish lessons, dance, physical education, and we are now introducing baby and child sign language.

We are committed to encouraging healthy eating, providing children with organic home made meals and snacks, freshly prepared by our on-site chef.

Busy Bees at Lancaster also offers an Out of School service for children up to 11 years, which now includes a specially designed ‘Chill Out’ room for our older children.

Busy Bees at Lancaster runs an Out of School Club for children aged 4 - 11 years. Activities and entertainments are provided for children during the time before and after school during term time. The pick up points are as follows:

OFSTED

Our Day nursery facilities are registered with the Department of Education and Employment DfES) to accept grants for Early Years education for children aged three and four and activities are geared to meet the requirements of Ofsted incorporating the Early Learning Goals.

Activities also take into consideration all aspects of the National Curriculum Key Stage One.

Children are given every opportunity to make their own choices with encouragement and help from staff and parents.
