About our Nursery

Busy Bees at Mardley Hill is a friendly, inviting nursery, providing day care for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The nursery aims to help children settle in and feel safe and secure by providing a happy and welcoming environment. The nursery is ideally situated near to motorways for London and the North, and is a converted house with off road parking, and there is a security system in place for entering the building.
There are six group rooms where a balance of care and education is provided through stimulating, age appropriate activities and resources, where children are encouraged to learn and develop in key areas. All activities are well planned, and implemented according to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Each child is assigned a key person who is responsible for recording their progress in nursery using our tracker system. The information is regularly reported to parents, and at Parents Evenings which take place twice a year. Alongside the planned activities, weekly French classes are provided to support children’s development of social and language skills, and sports lessons and movement and music classes help to improve their physical development.
Each group visits the garden area at least twice a day, giving the children the opportunity to play together outdoors getting fresh air and exercise, and making use of the variety of outdoor equipment. The large outdoor play area is perfect for riding bikes and playing group games, whilst the grassed sensory area has its own garden for planting shrubs and flowers for the children to take care of. All of this fun and excitement can be tiring, therefore snooze mats are provided for children to rest or sleep on if required.
The daily events are recorded and relayed to parents when they come to collect their child, giving some insight into their child’s activities.

The nursery has a number of outside and extra curricular activities that take place at the nursery.
Talking about these extra activities Allison said "we have outside groups coming in to give each child extra opportunities such as French Classes for the over 3's, 'Tiny Mites' music classes and 'Dinky Dancers Dance Classes'."
"We all follow an EYFS planning process with each child to make sure that we plan for the child's individual needs constantly and we look at the activities that the child would love to participate in."

Parents can also purchase home kits so that they can follow what the lesson plan has been teaching with the music instruments and then if they wish to, they can provide a similar lesson at home for the children.
Parent Liaison Comittee
We have a Parent Liaison Commitee which meets every three months to discuss things that happen in the nursery, minutes for the meetings are posted on our designated notice board.
Everyone really enjoys these meetings as it's a lovely opportunity for the parents to provide extra input to the nursery which helps improve both parents and childrens experiences during the time they spend at the nursery.
