About our Nursery

Little boy on blue Scooter

Busy Bees at Ashton House is a grade two listed building set in acres of tree-filled parkland. It has been sympathetically restored to its former glory and has earned the company a second Civic Trust award. Ashton House provides childcare from babies up to pre-school children, and also has extensive facilities for after school care and holiday care. We have bright spacious rooms, extensive landscaped gardens, and a gymnasium. Each room is dedicated to a specific age group with qualified and experienced staff, and our pre-school group is led by a qualified early years teacher.

In addition to separate baby units, early years and pre-school provision, Ashton House has an imaginatively converted area which is specifically designed for school aged children who use it every day in the after school service and during all school breaks and inset days for holiday care.

We provide an imaginative programme of activities following both the ‘Birth to Three Matters’ and 'Foundation Stages' ensuring each age and stage of development is fully catered for. Children can also benefit from extra curricular activities such as ballet, rhythm and rhyme and now football aswell! Our team is committed to building on your child’s interests, abilities and earlier experiences by sensitive intervention and involvement. Each child is assigned their own key worker who spends time getting to know you and your child.

Activities Noticeboard

At Busy Bees, we value you as your child's prime educator and aim to become active partners with you in your child's continuing process of education.

As you know, young children are active and eager to learn and delight in discovering their world. Both the content of what children learn and the way in which learning takes place and is experienced by a child is important.

We emphasise first-hand experiences and view play and talk as powerful mediums through which children learn and develop. Our team of skilled and knowledgeable staff hold high expectations of all children. We build on your child's interest, abilities and earlier experiences by sensitive intervention and involvement.

Our curriculum is broad, balanced and relevant to all children. It is appropriate to their social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual development and incorporates all government guidelines.

As a team, we regularly monitor, review and evaluate our work in order to maintain and achieve high standards, By continually observing children, we are able to base our plans around their individual needs.

OFSTED

Our Day nursery facilities are registered with the Department of Education and Employment DfES) to accept grants for Early Years education for children aged three and four and activities are geared to meet the requirements of Ofsted incorporating the Early Learning Goals.

Activities also take into consideration all aspects of the National Curriculum Key Stage One.

Children are given every opportunity to make their own choices with encouragement and help from staff and parents.
