About our Nursery

Tibbi Tots Day Nursery is situated in a converted Edwardian House attached to a converted church building. Set in beautiful, well-maintained grounds the nursery is only a minute’s walk from the town centre. The nursery caters for pre-school children .

Tibbi Tots Nursery has large, spacious rooms where our well-trained and experienced staff, provide a balance of care and education for children. Within each group we follow either the ‘Birth to Three Matters’ or the ‘Foundation Stage’ curriculum, to form activities suitable for the children’s age and developmental stage.

The nursery includes a secure outdoor play area, an attractive garden, with a separate area for under 2’s with soft surfaces. Tibbi Tots is well equipped with lots of fun and educational toys, as well as outdoor play equipment.

We are committed to providing healthy and nutritious meals, all of which are freshly prepared on-site by our qualified chef, and recently we were awarded a 4 star rating by scores on the doors, an independent web site who list environmental health reports for businesses which provide food, see the report by clicking here

In November 2002 Tibbi Tots proudly received an achievement award, this was presented as a result of the Parent Satisfaction Survey. Both new and current parents comment on the friendliness and competence of our staff team. This is of paramount importance to us, as our staff are experienced, well trained with regular updates and are encouraged to take up extra training.

There is an intercom security system in place, and a large area of off road
parking at the front of the property.

We have a football teacher who comes in on Friday afternoons, a story teller every other Monday morning, and a French teacher on Thursday afternoons, this is an interactive learning experience that the children really enjoy.
 
Our pre-school children are introduced to I.T with computer activities. 
The role-play areas in all of our rooms are changed every 6 weeks and have been a great success. Some examples are The Tibbi Tots Cafe, Doctor's Surgery, Teacher at School, Florist and a Fish and Chip Shop.
Daily stimulation is given to the children through structured timetabled activities. These may include junk modelling, wet/dry sand play, water play, dressing up, creative work, story-time, maths, physical education to name but a few. All our activities adhere to Ofsted's standards.

OFSTED

Our Day nursery facilities are registered with the Department of Education and Employment DfES) to accept grants for Early Years education for children aged three and four and activities are geared to meet the requirements of Ofsted incorporating the Early Learning Goals.

Activities also take into consideration all aspects of the National Curriculum Key Stage One.

Children are given every opportunity to make their own choices with encouragement and help from staff and parents.
