About our Nursery

Busy Bees at St David's Park is a purpose built day nursery and has been open since July 2000. Situated in the county of Flintshire, North Wales, around 5 miles outside Chester, the nursery is situated just off the A55, approximately a quarter of a mile up the road from St David's Park Hotel. It is in a beautiful rural area and is surrounded by a garden area that allows all the children to have individual play areas that accommodate their own developmental needs. The nursery caters for children from 3 months to 5 years, and we run an after school and holiday scheme for children up to 11 years. 

Raindrops Room caters for babies up to 10 months old, Sunshine Room cares for children from 10 to 16 months, and the Rainbows room caters for children aged 16 months to 2 years. These rooms have separate bathrooms and nappy changing facilities, and separate sleep room.

Our 2 to 3 year olds are divided into two areas called Moonbeams and Snowflakes, and our 3 to 5 year olds are cared for in Shooting Stars. These rooms have separate bathroom facilities and designated areas for sleep and relaxation, and eating. Each group room plans their own timetable of activities, to suit the needs and development stage of all children, the older children work within the early learning curriculum. Staff based within each room allows the Key Worker system to be implemented.

Our large outdoor play area is divided into sections so that each group can use their own play area and have freedom of movement. We also have a French tutor and Sports tutor visit the 3 to 5 year olds on Thursdays and Fridays.

At Busy Bees at David's Park, the activities cover all stages of development. The emphasis is on play, and learning and developing through play. 

A sports teacher who comes in weekly, provides activities to stimulate the children's developmental skills. We also provide a weekly French tutor, who gives French lessons to children aged between 3 and 5 years.

The Welsh language and culture is introduced to the children at a young age, with a full and varied range of themes and topics, from all areas of learning, provided to stimulate any imagination.

OFSTED

Our Day nursery facilities are registered with the Department of Education and Employment DfES) to accept grants for Early Years education for children aged three and four and activities are geared to meet the requirements of Ofsted incorporating the Early Learning Goals.

Activities also take into consideration all aspects of the National Curriculum Key Stage One.

Children are given every opportunity to make their own choices with encouragement and help from staff and parents.
