About our Nursery

Little boy riding on toy car

Busy Bees at The Rye is a single storey building overlooking the Rye Park, set close to the town and local services and mainline train station, and is a short distance from the M40. There is ample parking for parents to use when collecting or dropping off their children. Our meals are freshly prepared on site, and consist of a two-course home-cooked lunch, and ‘High Tea’. Throughout the day we provide healthy snacks and drinks, with dietary requirements catered for.

The nursery has six groups where a wide variety of age appropriate activities are offered, promoting creativity, imaginative play, motor skills and language development. The children use the secure outdoor play area on a daily basis, which features sensory play facilities including windmills, mirrors and musical areas, and a colourful playhouse where the children can participate in a variety of activities, such as using magnifying glasses and binoculars to look for insects and wildlife.

The dedicated and caring staff team hold the relevant qualifications and most have had years of experience in childcare.

We have recently had a brand new outdoor play area which gives the children a safe and exciting place to play and learn, see the photos below.

GARDEN TIME
Choice of bikes, cars, ball games, climbing and balancing games take place, weather permitting, on a daily basis.

Our younger rooms participate in singing, messy activities, dressing up and building within their room, whilst the older children rotate around a selection of rooms which offer a variety of activities; such as the construction room where building, colours and matching take place.

BEE ACTIVE
Every fortnight we hold a "Bee Active" soccer sessions for our 3-5 year olds. These are held on Monday afternoons, Except bank holidays, and cover the ABC's - Ability, Balance and Co-ordination.

ART ROOM
Lots of mess is made in here but it all washes away - play dough, cutting, sticking, sand and water.

SCHOOL ROOM
Concentration is developed with puzzles, drawing, letterland and storytime.

IMAGINATIVE ROOM
A firm favourite with all ages, this room changes on a weekly basis; hairdressers, dentist, doctors, and a Chinese takeaway is coming soon. Children can act out songs, stories and role play.

The pre-school team work towards the early years goals and funding is received for these children. On Mondays music and movement is the theme, on Tuesdays we enjoy 'Four ways farm' which is a science based series and on Friday afternoons a French teacher visits us for an hour.

OFSTED

Our Day nursery facilities are registered with the Department of Education and Employment DfES) to accept grants for Early Years education for children aged three and four and activities are geared to meet the requirements of Ofsted incorporating the Early Learning Goals.

Activities also take into consideration all aspects of the National Curriculum Key Stage One.

Children are given every opportunity to make their own choices with encouragement and help from staff and parents.
