Karen Harris Nursery Manager has worked for Busy Bees since September 1993:
I gained my NNEB childcare qualification in July 1991 and I have previously worked in a council-run family centre and a private day nursery.
I currently work three days a week whilst spending the rest of my time with my own family. I have three children and my youngest daughter Sophie currently attends Busy Bees at Blakelands House.
I enhance my professional development by attending many in house courses and training sessions with Busy Bees and the local authority and I am looking forward to beginning a NVQ level 3 in Management.
Marie Swingewood has worked in childcare for 16 years starting out as a childminder and playgroup leader before joining Busy Bees in 2005:
After joining Busy Bees in 2005 I worked my way up to Nursery Manager. I gained a NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education in Novemeber 2001.
I attend different courses through Busy Bees in house training and the local authority to continually keep up to date with my professional development.
I recently lead the nursery in receiving a Healthy Setting Award from Birmingham City Council and I will be starting my NVQ level 3 in Management in the near future.
