Emma has worked for Busy Bees since April 1999:
I am qualified with a BTEC National Diploma in Nursery Nursing. I am in the second year of my degree in Leadership and management and enjoy applying my learning in the work place. I started off at Busy Bees nursery in Formby as a nursery nurse and I have worked my way up to nursery manager. My daughter Charlotte attended Busy Bees from 9 months old and was more than ready to start a new chapter of her life when she started school in September 2011.
Kate Barlow has worked at Busy Bees since September 2001:
I have completed my NVQ level 2 and 3 in childcare through Busy Bees training. I have completed my first aid at work so I am qualified to deal with both staff and children. I have been joint nursery manager since April 2007 and during this time i took on the role of Training mentor whereby I encourage staff to attend courses such as Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children, Food Hygiene and the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
We achieved Lancashire Healthy School's status in January 2010 completing 5 standards which were, Ethos, Leadership and Management, Physical Activity, Healthy Eating and Emotional Health and Well Being. Following on from this we are now using the Healthy Hero's pack to continue working with our parents and children to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Our last OFSTED inspection was in May 2011 and we gained 14 Good outcomes and 3 Outstanding outcomes. We gained our Outstanding outcomes for the extent to which children adopt healthy lifestyles, the effectiveness of partnerships and the effectiveness of the setting’s engagement with parents and carers .
