Phil Vickery traning Busy Bees chefs

As part of our healthy eating campaign, Busy Bees partnered with Michelin-starred celebrity chef Phil Vickery to create a selection of nutritious recipes for Busy Bees to include in their nursery menus nationwide. Phil Vickery adopts the same approach to food as Busy Bees, to use simple ingredients to produce healthy, tasty food for our children.

Six talented Busy Bees Chefs joined Phil Vickery at the celebrated Pru Leith's Cooking Academy in London, where they were given the chance to prepare and taste selected recipes from the new menus. Phil was on hand to offer expert advice and encouragement to the Chefs, as well as inspire them to take some of the tips back to their nursery kitchens.

The dietary needs of our children are catered for with the new recipes from Phil Vickery including a Gluten Free Polenta Tray Bake with Mango Fondant and a Pumpkin and Cheddar dip.

Phil Vickery worked with Busy Bees to create a collection of 36 delicious snacks, meals and desserts, with the help from our Busy Bees Chefs as well as an expert in child nutrition to make sure the recipes contain all of the nutrients a growing child needs.

Phil Vickery approached the partnership with enthusiasm, saying

"I am delighted to work with Busy Bees as it’s important to work with children from an early age and get them used to eating healthy foods. We have taken the existing Busy Bees recipes and looked at reducing fats, salts and sugars to create a tasty, balanced menu."

Busy Bees' philosophy has always been to provide quality food to all children in the nurseries and Phil Vickery has been a great inspiration to the nursery Chefs and Busy Bees hope to work with him again in the future.
