Our annual nursery Christmas party took place this year on Saturday 2nd December. We had a fantastic turn out with lots of the nursery children attending looking brilliantly christmassy in their party attire with their family members.
All children who attend the nursery were invited to come and join in our festive celebration between 10.30 to 12.30 within their nursery room/area. Every year its an event not to be missed the staff from each room make it a fantastic day by preparing games and fun for the children. This year some of those games included musical statues, pass the box of treats, pin the face on the snowman, skittles and this year we also had some new games introduced that went down very well with both the children and parents. So big thumbs up and shout out to Sophie from Caterpillars for showing her attendees the 'candy cane game' and to Dawn from Tadpoles on reinventing a nursery favourite 'musical spots' to the new and improved 'musical icebergs'.
And congratulations to all who were victorious and won the room games, I hear this year we even had some parents cheekily trying to cheat and taking the games very very seriously. These parents were reportedly told by their own children apparently to 'calm down'.
After everyone had enjoyed the fun and games within the rooms all the children wrapped up warm and took turns to head out to see our special visitor. Father Christmas arrived with many large parcels in toe which made all the children very excited. This year Busy Bees outdid themselves by providing Father Christmas with lovely cuddly Rudolf Reindeer toys for all the nursery children - which were highly loved by all! Also within the children's large parcel they received a lovely book which was fundraised for throughout the year at our other nursery events by the Parents Partnership Committee. So a big thank you to all our committed parents who have helped to do this over the year.
The Grotto was a huge success thanks to Father Christmas himself and his amazing helpers which this year was our very own much loved Julie who unfortunately at the moment is being very missed as she is signed off from work after an operation, but being the lover of Christmas she is she couldn't miss seeing the children and helping Father Christmas like she does each year. This year Julie had the help of her two amazing daughters Kim and Faith too, so a big thank you to Julie for coming to help and too Kim and Faith also.
After seeing Father Christmas the children enjoyed an amazing array of festive party food where they all got to sit together and enjoy each others company, whilst Chrissie made sure all parents were catered for with something nice to drink and to nibble on.
It was an absolutely fantastic festive filled day with lots of fun had by all so a huge final thank you to all the staff who made it such an amazing day and thank you to all parents and children who attended.
We hope to see you again next year, and make sure you have a peak at our upcoming Christmas events throughout December so you don't miss out on any of our upcoming Christmas fun.
