Children at Busy Bees nursery in Walsgrave, Coventry have been remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the First World War as part of Armistice Day on Saturday 11th November.
This year marks the 99th Armistice Day, which recognises when an agreement was reached between the Allied Forces and Germany for their surrender. To mark the occasion, children from the nursery have been creating their own poppies, the international symbol of remembrance, to display on the nursery walls. The children were also visited by LCpl Victoria Grinnall and LCpl Ranvir Singh, of the Army Youth Outreach Team JNCO. They said hello to the younger children before taking part in some creative activities to paint poppies in the Preschool rooms. It was a pleasure to welcome them into our nursery.
