Autumn Healthy Living Day on Friday 3rd November
at St Albans Nursery & Montessori Pre-School
Just because the nights are drawing in and the days are getting shorter and colder, it doesn’t mean we should stay indoors.
In fact, it is really important that we all continue to exercise throughout the winter to keep our energy levels up and help keep us happy and healthy.
During the week from 30th October to 3rd November, in addition to our usual ‘Wake and Shake’ movement programme, we will be encouraging the children to participate in winter games.
We will be teaching the pre-schoolers about the benefits and the importance of keeping active and why exercise is so important to Healthy Living.
Children who are active will:
ï‚· have stronger muscles and bones
ï‚· have a leaner body
ï‚· be less likely to become overweight
ï‚· decrease the risk of developing type 2 diabetes
ï‚· lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels
ï‚· have a better outlook on life
Besides enjoying the health benefits of regular exercise, children who are physically fit sleep better; they are also better able to handle physical and emotional challenges.
