Last year many of our nurseries worked very hard to raise money for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity. After a year of holding activities, events, dress up days and other fundraising activities we are delighted to announce that the final total amount raised for this incredible charity is £33,575.51!
Many of our nurseries chose to support the children’s charity during 2015 as it is very close to our hearts - helping to support children and provide them with the very best quality of life. During the year children, parents and staff at 84 of our nurseries have been undertaking their own activities in a bid to raise as much money as possible.
This week we handed over the cheque to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity at an event at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Having funded 51 nurses over the years, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity are experts in creating Roald Dahl nurses and are currently in the process of creating new nurse vacancies at Birmingham Children’s Hospital to help children and families affected by rare conditions.
The handover event, attended by Felicity Dahl – the widow of Roald, coincided with a rare diseases family engagement event and our staff were delighted to be able to attend and meet with the nurses and their patients to see first-hand how the funds will help to improve the lives and care of children in hospital.
Our divisional director Julie Boulton comments: “The 84 nurseries and all of those who have participated have done a fabulous job in raising this amazing amount of money and it’s one of our highest totals to date.”
Clare Eynon, corporate partnerships and trusts manager, said: “We would like to thank everyone at Busy Bees so very, very much for supporting our charitable work in such a marvellous and generous manner.
It really has been a pleasure and an honour to have been your chosen charity partner for the last year, and we are all completely overwhelmed by the enormous sum of money you have raised so successfully for our cause."
Thank you to all of our parents and nurseries who made this possible!
