Chinese New Year is the most important of the Chinese holidays, and is a time of feasting, celebration and gift-giving. The children enjoyed various activities from Friday 16th February that encouraged them to learn and celebrate Chinese New Year. The children made a large scale dragon, danced to traditional Chinese music, make red envelopes, lanterns and played various chopstick games. We also changed the menu on this day for the children to enjoy traditional Chinese food. We served vegetable chow mein, egg fried rice and spring rolls followed by a fruity pudding. We will also be serving Chinese soup followed by banana cake for tea.
