Sunflowers had a fantastic day out at Thornton Hall Country Farm Park on Wednesday 13th June.
The children explored all the sights, sounds and smells of the farm, learning about the chickens, egg collecting and experiencing seeing and feeding the goats, calves and sheep. They also saw baby ducklings, guines pigs and rabbits and met the farm's sheepdogs, who were resting after a busy morning rounding up all the sheep and chickens.
We had a picnic lunch in the play barn followed by some super sliding on mats down the big indoor slide and a play on the toy tractors. The children had a lovely time in the playbarn and on the outdoor climbing equipment and then a very exciting ride on the tractor and trailer around the whole farm park.
It was very quiet on the coach trip back after all that fresh farm air and playing! But we arrived safely back in time for a hot tea at nursery. All of the chidlren recieved a small gift as a memento of their day out and free pass to the farm so they can return with their family soon.
Thank you to all at Thornton Hall Country Farm Park for a wonderful visit and especially Sadie, our guide for the day for being very informative and helping keep the day very welll organised for us.
The group recieved lots of compliments on their great behaviour and brilliant listening skills, which was a pleasure to hear. Well done Sunflowers, you make us so proud !
