Gemma and Victoria have changed their traditional role play area into a deconstructed role play area within toddler room where the children decide how and what they want to play within the area. Deconstructed role play allows the children to fully engage in the experiences without there being no limitations This also creates a language rich learning space where children can interact with one another sharing ideas and developing their own play scenarios.
The toddler room children walked into the room this morning to find the change and it was a very positive outcome. The children straight away started to investigate the area, we heard a lot of 'what's this' and 'look'. As we watched the children we could see how much fun they were having exploring and making sense of the world around them.
