The Pre-school children have been learning about Diwali this week. They have been very creative and made lots of items that are linked with the Diwali celebrations. The children made tea light holders called 'divas'. Diwali is called the festival of lights and the tea lights are used to celebrate light over darkness and good over evil. The children also did firework pictures as these are used as part of the celebration. We made pictures with rice as a representation of Rangoli patterns. We also made our own lanterns. The children enjoyed the activity and learnt something about different cultures and religions.
