To celebrate the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, children in Toddlers room were led by Kubra and Yoma in making some outstanding celebration cards for loved ones and sampling Arabic handwriting to practice their emergent writing skills.
The children also decorated paper hands in traditional patterns like the henna that adorns the hands of women during celebrations.
Finally, the children made samosas to sample at tea time.
The children learned about cultures and different ways of life which relates to the Understanding the World area of The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and the children also learned to talk about home-life and their communities which relates to Personal, Social and Emotional Development. Children developed good physical skills too including fine motor control and hand-eye coordination!
